AIST and Cleland Ice Rink COVID Safety Regulations

We will be sanitizing between sessions, using social distancing, and controlling the flow of traffic. Please be patient as we navigate these changes while re-opening after 9 months of closure.

  • Masks required at all times for everyone (skaters; coaches; parents, etc) This includes children and adults while they are skating. Medical exemptions will not be accepted.

  • Please do not come to the facility if you or anyone in your immediate family currently has COVID, has been exposed to COVID, has a fever or any flu-like symptoms.

  • No spectators will be allowed. One parent or guardian may accompany minor children into the facility to pay, help put on skates, and to help on and off the ice. Non-skaters must wait outside during skating time.

  • Parents/Guardians please have your skater(s) as prepared as possible before entering the building. Examples: mask on, dressed, already used restroom, already had snack, equipment ready to go, warmed up.

  • Please refrain as much as possible from any unnecessary touching of boards, glass, benches, etc. All areas of use will be disinfected between activities.

  • Do to strict occupancy guidelines it is very important for non-skaters (ie: parents) to exit the building promptly, especially during group learn to skate classes. We want to make sure that all registered skaters have access to the building so they can attend their class. Coaches are happy to assist with skate tying and removal before and between classes.

  • The 10 minute time between Learn to Skate classes will now be utilizing for transitioning skaters on and off the ice and in and out of the building. We appreciate your expediency and assistance.

  • Private lesson skaters are still welcome to skate on freestyle ice before and after lesson time for independent practice. We do ask that you please schedule your lessons in advance and let your coach or the skating director know as soon as possible if you are not able to attend your lesson.

  • Group lesson skaters must be able to stand up independently on the ice after a fall, as well as stand and march forward independently.

  • Please no snacks or drinks rinkside with the exception of water in a non-breakable bottle.
